George H. Sutterley, III, age 91, of Willingboro, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018 at his home at Sunrise of Paoli, Malvern, PA. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Sutterley lived in Willingboro for over 50 years, before moving to Malvern 3 months ago.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a credit collections manager with North American Publishing for over 20 years. George was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Leyte. A member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Willingboro, he was active with their Men’s Club. Mr. Sutterley was a former Little League and Babe Ruth league coach and active with the Cub Scouts. He was also a member of both the American Legion and the V.F.W. He was an avid New York Yankees fan who enjoyed musicals, big band music and Broadway plays.
Son of the late George H. Sutterley II, and Minerva (Carter) Sutterley, he is survived by his loving wife Ruth Elaine (Edwards) Sutterley, a son and daughter-in-law Robert G. and Maria Sutterley of Devon, PA, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles Sutterley and Gilbert and Mary Sutterley, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 12 Noon on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. The Rev. Wendy Bellis, Pastor of the Morrisville United Methodist Church, will officiate. His interment will follow in Morrisville Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday morning from 11 AM until time of services at the funeral chapel.
