Alvin F. "Butch" Grove, age 70, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2014 at his home. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mailer with the Trentonian newspaper in Trenton for 25 years. Mr. Grove was a staunch Democrat and a graduate of Trenton High. He donated to many charities, especially the National Democratic Committee, as well as Amnesty International, the Morrisville Fire Company and Ambulance Squad. Butch was an avid traveler and loved to ski, play tennis, and swim. He loved the ocean, enjoying crabbing, fishing, water skiing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. He had his pilot's license, loved flying, and photography. Son of the late Frank and Grace (Wolff) Grove, and brother of the late Catherine "Kitty" Mule' and Eddie Grove, stepson of the late Eddie Drabb, and step brother of the late Ed Drabb, he is survived by a niece Julia Mule' Edgerton of Morrisville, a grandniece, Tracy Mule' Berard of Morrisville, 3 great grand-nieces Kristen, Candace, and Jonni Ann Hess, several aunts and cousins, and many lifelong friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration Luncheon from 1-3 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Michael's Restaurant on Old Rt. 1 in Morrisville, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mr. Grove's name be made to The Bingos Foundation, P.O. Box 7103 Penndel, PA 19047 or to the Morrisville Fire Company, 528 N Pennsylvania Ave, Morrisville, PA 19067, or to the Morrisville Ambulance Squad, 139 North Washington St., Morrisville, PA 19067. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com).
