Andrew Thompson LaRue, Sr., age 90, of Life Quest Nursing Home, Quakertown, PA, formerly of Morrisville, died peacefully on February 27, 2014. Married in 1948, he was the devoted husband of 66 years to the late Lillian (Brownlee) LaRue. Born in Morrisville, PA, on Oct. 26, 1923, he was the son of Herbert Roy and Marjorie V. (Thompson) LaRue. Andrew served 4 years in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a union carpenter and superintendent for William Lotz Construction and Engineering of Philadelphia, retiring in 1988. He was also a police officer with Upper Makefield Township. He was a member of the Newtown Masonic Lodge #427 F.&A.M. for 67 years and the Sanford Diletto American Legion Post # 443. Father of the late Nanette Elisa Jacobs, Andrew is survived by sons Andrew T. LaRue, Jr. of Morrisville, PA and Herbert W. LaRue of Lancaster, daughters Lillian Jean Novy of Jim Thorpe, Laura Caroline Martin of Coopersburg, sisters Marjorie Roberts and Elizabeth Steinman, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
