Andrew A. Peresta, ”Little Andy” age 71 of Morrisville, PA, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, at his home. Born in Columbus, OH, Mr. Peresta grew up in Levittown.
He was a 1964 graduate of Pennsbury High school and was a member of the tennis team. He attended Bucks County Community college before being drafted into the Army at the age of 19. He served in the Army in the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” in Viet Nam in the DMZ. He was a skilled marksman and had received many marksmanship medals during his time in the service. Unfortunately,he returned from the war a shell of his former self and like many of his combat veterans, he battled the demons that followed him home until the very end.
Andy was a kind-hearted soul who loved fishing, clamming and crabbing at Long Beach Island, New Jersey, where he had been visiting with his family since he was a child. As a young man, he loved disco dancing, neru suits and the company of pretty women. A lover of the outdoors, he was an avid skeet shooter. To relax, he would often be found in front of an easel with his oil paints and canvas, usually painting the wildlife that he so often enjoyed. Andrew was also a very accomplished bowler and a dedicated bowling league-member for many years.
Son of the late Andrew and Marie (Harcharek) Peresta, he is survived by two brothers and daughters-in-law, Ken and Brenda Peresta of Little River, SC and Bob and Barbara Peresta of Lancaster, SC, a sister, and brother-in-law Olga and Bill Adams of Whitefish, Montana, three nephews Ken, Anthony and Kyle Peresta, and a niece Kristin Peresta.
Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
