Andrew Donald Roppelt

Andrew Donald Roppelt, age 96, of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. Andrew was born in Trenton, NJ on Aug. 30, 1919 to the late Andrew D. and Jeane (Phillips) Roppelt.Although he was raised in Morrisville, he also resided in Morristown, NJ, Philadelphia, and Abington before returning to Morrisville in 1998. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Mr.Roppelt was employed as a Linotype Operator with the Philadelphia Inquirer for over 30 years. He was a member of the All Souls Episcopal Church for the Deaf, and recently attended Christ the King Deaf Church in Philadelphia.Andrew was a member of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Alumni Association, the PA Society for the Advancement of the Deaf, The National Fraternal Society for the Deaf, and the National Association of the Deaf. He was very active in the deaf community, holding various offices. Andrew also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, home movies, and dining out.Husband of the late Philomena "Peggy" Roppelt, he is survived by two daughters, Donna J. Roppelt and her spouse Therese DeAngelis of Yardley, and Karen (Roppelt) and her spouse Thomas Akins of Punta Gorda, FL.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). Pastor Beth Lockard will officiate.
