Angelo Gonnella, Jr. passed away peacefully on December 5. 2024, in Princeton, New Jersey, at the age of 84. Born on April 27, 1940, in Trenton, New Jersey, Angelo lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and a sense of community that touched everyone he met.
With an outgoing and personable nature, Angelo thrived in his professional career as a liquor store manager for an impressive 50 years. His dedication and charm made a lasting impression on his customers and colleagues alike, fostering connections that transcended the usual business transactions. It was more than just work for Angelo; it was an opportunity to build friendships and serve his community.
Angelo was also a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy, where he exemplified the values of honor and commitment. His military experience shaped him into the steadfast individual that he was; a man of principle and a true supporter of those he cared about.
In his leisure time, Angelo found joy on the golf course, where his love for the game mirrored his approach to life—full of enthusiasm and undeterred by challenges. Additionally, he had a soft spot for cats, cherishing the companionship and comfort they provided him throughout his life.
Angelo is survived by his beloved brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Joanne Gonnella of Jupiter, Florida, and his cousin, Philip Polizzi. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and will forever be remembered for the light he brought into the lives of those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Angelo Gonnella, and his mother, Lucy DiRosa Gonnella, who lovingly raised him and instilled in him the values that he carried throughout his life.
