Ann F. Yamamoto, a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, passed away on December 26, 2024, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Born on May 13, 1932, she dedicated her life to service, both in her professional career and through her community involvement.
For over 50 years, Ann served as a librarian for the Philadelphia School District at the Ethan Allen Middle School. Her commitment to fostering a love for reading and learning in young minds was evident through her countless hours spent guiding and nurturing students. Additionally, she contributed her skills to Sears, Roebuck and Company in the credit department for many years, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her work.
Ann was also deeply committed to her community, exemplified by her volunteer efforts at the food bank at St. John's Lutheran Church on Tyson Avenue in Philadelphia, as well as her work with the Red Cross. These experiences highlighted her passion for helping others and her desire to make a positive impact.
An avid enthusiast of sewing and crafting, Ann found joy in creating beautiful items that she shared with her family and friends, demonstrating her nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and June Yamamoto of Yardley; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Yamamoto of Los Lunas, New Mexico; five beloved grandchildren, Benjamin, Joshua, Allen, Andrew, and Melissa Ann; and a cherished great-granddaughter, Riley.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Jiyuji Kitajima and Masako Fukamachi Kitajima, and her son Kenneth Yamamoto.
Her legacy of dedication to education, community service, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
