ObituaryAnna "Marie" (Chevalier) Ferrara of Yardley, PA died, July 15, 2013. She was 93 years old. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, she grew up in Edison, NJ and as educated in local schools. After graduation from Coleman College School of Business, she was affiliated with Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick until after her marriage.She was married to the late Norman Ferrara for 58 years. Their home for the next 32 years was in Metuchen, NJ. After her husband's retirement they moved to the Yardley, PA area.She has been a member of the Women's Club of Metuchen (Borough Improvement League) since 1953 and was active in it until moving to Pennsylvania. She had been twice President of the club and also of the District Past Presidents' Club and was Vice President of her District. She also held numerous offices in the state and in her club.She was an active member of the New Brunswick and Metuchen Presbyterian Churches and an Ordained Deacon. She sang in both churches choir.She and her husband also performed with a local folk dance group for several years. When her husband was assigned as an engineer to construct three plants in Europe they, as a family, spent 3/12 years there with a team of engineers for the Colgate Palmolive Company and resided in Milan and Rome, Italy. While in Rome Marie continued her artistic studies at the American Academy of Fine Arts under the tutelage of James Wines who later became administrator of the New York Fine Arts Institute.She was an active member of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, sang in the Chancel Choir, and was Moderator of the Women's Association and Leader of the Deborah Circle.A homemaker, she was multitalented. She loved music and learned to play the organ. She was a proficient seamstress, loved creative writing, drawing and painting, interior design and crafts and considered gardening a special passion. Daughter of the late Agnes Elizabeth (Martin) and Stephen Garritson Chevalier, and wife of the late Norman Ferrara and mother of the late Ronald Ferrara, she is survived by her daughter, Diane Ambrosino and her husband Alfred, of Langhorne, PA; a daughter-in-law Barbara and her two children, Katie Rose and Michael David of Los Angeles CA; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Hutchinson Memorial Chapel of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church 772 N Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA, with the Associate Pastor Deborah Heffernan officiating.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 772 N.
