Benjamin Backes

Benjamin Backes, age 88 of Washington Crossing, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2020.  Born in Bristol, PA, he was a lifelong area resident.

In 1962, Mr . Backes opened Falls Auto Body, a business he owned and operated for well over 55 years  He graduated from Fallsington High School, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hamilton Township, NJ, where he taught Sunday School.  Ben enjoyed woodworking, and was proud that he built his own home.  He was also fond of gardening, and really enjoyed riding motorcycles with his late wife, Shirley.  Most of all, Ben loved spending time with his family and going to church.

Son of the late John and Margaret (Bundy) Backes, brother of the late Mary Lou Nadolny, and husband of the late Shirley Jane (Bellardo) Backes, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cheryl Lee and Tim Boerckel of New Hope, PA, his son and daughter-in-law Benjamin, Jr. and Kim Backes of Morrisville, a brother Donald Backes of Surry, Maine, and several nieces and nephew.

Services with burial in Morrisville Cemetery are being planned and will be announced.
