Bernard J. Lewandowski

Bernard Joseph Lewandowski, age 89, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 9, 2016. Born in Trenton, NJ, Bernard lived in Morrisville for the past 50 years.Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed as a mechanic with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. Mr. Lewandowski was a proud Navy Veteran, having served during WWII. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Morrisville, and a member of the V.F.W., Post 491 in Yardville, New Jersey.Son of the late John and Rose (Kapraszewski) Lewandowski, he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Bonnie R. (Nixon) Lewandowski, three sons and two daughters-in-law Bernard and Denise Lewandowski of Boiling Springs, PA, Edward Lewandowski of West Deptford, NJ, and James and Kim Lewandowski of Morrisville, PA, a daughter and son-in-law Linda and Michael Morini of Ivyland, PA, his sister Helen Chiovitt of Levittown, PA, sister-in-law Dianne Nixon of Morrisville, PA, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his memorial mass at 9:30 AM on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA. The Rev. Fr. John Eckert, will officiate. Entombment will follow at 11 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.Friends may call Thursday morning from 9-9:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions, in the name of Bernard Lewandowski, be sent to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
