Bonita (Bonnie) Marie Lucash Goodwin, age 69 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell, NJ. Born in Hazelton, PA, Bonnie grew up in Morrisville before moving to NJ where she spent most of her life and developed a deep love of the beaches and ocean. Her path included Yardville where she was married and started a family. She then built a home in Columbus. She also lived in Whiting. Recently she lived in Lawrenceville, NJ for eight years before moving to Little Egg Harbor one year ago. It was always her dream to live by the water.
Her career started with working at the Trenton Times where she gained knowledge of editing and other administrative tasks. She also worked for a book publishing company, a bus travel agency, a bank and a doctor’s office. While working, she also maintained and nurtured a rich family and social life. This included weekend boating on Barnegat Bay and being a member of the Trenton Falls Power Squadron with her late husband, Fred. She loved spending time at the beach and especially enjoyed Ocean Grove, NJ. She was also an avid traveler and was fond of theme dinners with her friends. Bonnie was a loving mother and nana, she was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Rockovich) Lucash, wife of the late Frederick Goodwin Jr and sister of the late Frederick and Norbert Lucash and Helene Lippincott, she is survived by her loving companion Thomas Drexel, a beloved daughter and son-in-law Jenel and Marc Zawadzki of Fairless Hills,Pa three step children and their spouses Timothy and Florence Goodwin of Mellville, NY, Ronald and Sharon Goodwin of Hempstead, NY and Sandi and Eric Levin of Merrick, NY, two brothers Robert Lucash of Morrisville, PA and Stephen Lucash, Jr. of Bordentown, NJ, three sisters and a brother-in-law Yolanda Maenza of Palm Coast, Florida, Mary and Edwin Dardzinski of St. Augustine, FL and Patricia Bitner of Columbus, NJ, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 5:30 PM on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Deacon Michael Scannella will officiate.
Friends may gather from 4:30 – 5:30 PM at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bonnie’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
