Burtis "Burt" E. Briggs

August 22, 1943 — April 19, 2018

Burtis “Burt” E. Briggs, age 74, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 19, 2018.  Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Briggs had been a lifelong Morrisville resident.

Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with Hill Refrigeration in Trenton for about 10 years before working with the Morrisville Municipal Authority for 20 years.  Burt was a graduate of Upper Freehold Township High School, Class of 1961.  He was very proud to have served with the Army National Guard of New Jersey.   He also served as Treasurer of the Bucks County Theater Company and on Morrisville Borough Council. Mr. Briggs had been a soccer coach for the CYO, enjoyed hunting and working outside, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Son of the late Stanley and Helen Marie (Larrison) Briggs, husband of the late Carol M. (Tettemer) Briggs, and brother of the late Barbara Foltin, Burt is survived by his two daughters Karen Briggs of Philadelphia and Joanne Seleyo of Aston, PA, three sisters and two brothers-in-law Janice and Ted Whittaker of MA, Mary Lou and Stanley Warhol of FL, and Ruth Briggs of NJ, a brother Richard Briggs of NJ, his aunt, Marion Stillwell, aunt and uncle, Lillian and Harry Briggs, and his grandson Brendan Seleyo, one niece and one nephew, and several cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Burt at 12 noon on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA.  His interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, 875 River Rd., Yardley, PA.

Friends may call Thursday morning from 11 AM – 12 Noon at the funeral chapel.
