C. Meade Beers Jr.

C. Meade Beers, Jr., age 79, of Lower Makefield, PA, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at Chandler Hall Hospice. He was born in Tarentum, PA to the late C. Meade Beers, Sr. and Alyce Beers Gilboux.Meade graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.). He had been a superintendent of schools for 28 years, including the Pennsbury School District from 1981 until 1987. His proudest accomplishment was being an assistant professor at Bloomsburg University.Meade is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvonne (McLachlan) Beers, a son and daughter-in-law Seth and Elaine Beers, a daughter Tara Beers Gibson, his grandchildren Tyler and Jessica Beers and Gray and Brooke Gibson, and a step-sister Cheryl (and husband Dennis) Gould.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W.
