Carlos A. Salkeld

Carlos A. Salkeld, age 62, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Born in Lima, Peru, he was lived and was raised in Peru before moving to Lower Bucks County over 24 years ago.Mr. Salkeld spent many years working as a department manager of collections in the cemetery industry. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral in Trenton, and enjoyed creating handcrafted rosaries which were given to missionaries overseas. Carlos enjoyed building model wooden boats and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Mr. Salkeld loved the beach, surfing, and making master sandcastles.Son of the late Carlos Alberto Horacio Salkeld, he is survived by his mother Gladys (Barriga) Salkeld, his beloved wife Marie Elena (Rivas-Plata) Salkeld, 2 children Grace Marie Salkeld-Malinder and Andrea Salkeld, 2 brothers Alberto and Guillermo "Memo" Salkeld, 2 sisters Gladys and Elvira Salkeld, 2 grandchildren Connor and Elena Grace Malinder, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Cathedral, 151 N. Warren St., Trenton, NJ. Interment of cremated remains will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9-10 AM at St. Mary's Cathedral.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mr. Salkeld's name be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
