Catherine E. Vidunas (markulin)

Catherine E. Vidunas, age 98, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2013 surrounded by her family at The Brunswick at Attleboro, Langhorne, PA. Born in Forbes Road, PA, she was a Morrisville resident since 1953.She was the daughter of the late John N. and Barbara Markulin. She was preceded in death by her husband Constant J. Vidunas, Jr., and sons, infant Constant Vidunas, III and Paul Vidunas, and brothers, Nicholas, Joseph, and John R. Markulin. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gerald Harrington of Tierra Verde, FL, and Anne and Gary Gladwell, Jr. and her beloved granddaughter Caitlin Gladwell of Morrisville, PA. She is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Markulin of Cary, NC and Francis Markulin of Greensburg, PA, three sisters, Helen Markulin, Mary Falcon, and Rose Malec, all of Greensburg, PA, and many nieces and nephews. Kay was a loyal member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was a former President of the Ladies of Columbus. She often walked to and from Sunday mass. She was kind, generous and devoted to her family. She was a homemaker and excellent cook who canned fresh vegetables from her husband's garden. She was widely known for her baked goods; her cakes were famous at Holy Trinity bake sales. Kay spoke Croatian fluently and traveled to Croatia in the 1980's. She enjoyed summer vacations at the Jersey Shore and visiting the casinos.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass to be celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Interment in the National Cemetery at Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA, will be held privately at the convenience of the family.Friends may call Monday morning from 10 AM - 12 PM at the church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mrs. Vidunas' name be made to the Crossroads Hospice, 523 Plymouth Rd. #225, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 or to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, 199 Water St., 23rd Floor, New York, NY 10038.
