Charles Stryker Conover, Jr., age 93 of Yardville, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2024 under the care of Serenity Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Conover lived in Yardville for the past 68 years.
A proud Veteran of the United States Navy, Charles was a retired machine operator from General Motors Fisher Guide Division, working there for 38 years. He was a member of the UAW Local # 731 Retirees. Mr. Conover was active with the Sunny Brae Baseball League and Hamilton Babe Ruth. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed cheering for all of the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles, and most of all for his grandkids.
Son of the late Charles Stryker and Anita Thorn Conover, he was the husband of the late Loretta (Marcucci) Conover, father of the late Charles S. Conover III and Janet Knight, and grandfather of the late Michael Bajek. He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law Linda and Ferdinand Scaccetti of Hamilton and Karen LaCour and Cheryl Conover, both of Bordentown, a sister Carol Czyzewski of Hamilton, nine grandchildren Lisa, Tina, Jenna, Jimmy, Michelle, Kelly, Melanie, Chas and Michael, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His services at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel of Morrisville, and entombment at St. Mary Cemetery in Hamilton, were held privately at the convenience of the family.
