Charles P. Maurer, age 82, of Morrisville, PA, died June 2, 2013 peacefully at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he has lived in Morrisville for the past 58 years. Charles was a member of the first graduating class of Neshaminy High School. He was also a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local # 19. Mr. Maurer was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW. He loved woodworking, especially with poplar. Charles was extremely talented in woodworking, and blessed the Church with his production of many tables, welcome centers, and other maintenance projects. He was also an avid fisherman and an active participant in Samaritans Purse, a ministry of Franklin Graham.Son of the late John Clement and Edith Ella (Sisler) Maurer, and pre-deceased by his first wife Jane (Dildine) Maurer, he leaves behind his wife Anna (Hunter) Maurer, a daughter and son in law Karen and Joe Otap of Saranac, NY, a son and daughter in law Douglas and Amy Maurer of Fairless Hills, PA, two grandsons and their wives Joseph and Kristen Otap, of Morrisonville, NY and Daniel and Isla Otap of New York City, NY, great grandchildren Jane and Evelyn Otap, a step daughter and her husband Cindy and Robert Randall of Collingswood, NJ, a step son and his wife, Richard and Susan Maurer of Washington Crossing, PA, step grandchildren, Jared, Rebekah, Zachary, and Hannah Randall, Matthew and Grace Maurer, and his sister Clara Zimmerman of Parkland, PA, and many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:30 AM at New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Dr., Newtown, PA 18940. The Rev. Norman Levy, Pastor, will officiate.
