Charles A. Phillips Sr.

Charles A. Phillips, 87, died peacefully at home on December 28, 2016. He was born August 24, 1929, in Gallatin, TN, to John Henry and Mary (Key) Phillips, the middle child of five. He married the love of his life, Annette (Aheimer) Phillips from Millvale, PA, on October 26, 1957. Charles happily took on the responsibility of raising her two boys as his own along with the six children they had together.Through the years he worked hard to provide for his family of eight children. He moved to Morrisville, PA, in 1969 and worked at Gemini Plastics, Inc. He then worked at Gentron Plastic Corporation in Morrisville until he retired. Raised a farmer, gardening was a passion for Charles. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather to eight children, twenty grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.His wife, Annette, passed in 2009. He was also predeceased by his brother James Phillips of Gallatin, TN; his sister Connie "Sis" Buttrey of Tupelo, MS; his sister Willie Bellamy of Paxton, IL; his brother Henry M. Phillips of Castalian Springs, TN; and his grandsons William Phillips of New Auburn, MN, and John Harrington of Wiconisco, PA.He is survived by his five sons Floyd (Cecelia) of Marshall, MN; Mike (Leona) of Florence, NJ; Charles of Morrisville; John of Morrisville; and Bob of Hartsville, TN; and his three daughters Julie (James) Pietrocarlo of Moneta, VA; Mary Allen of Hartsville, TN; and Jean (David) Kemper of Exton, PA. Also, surviving are his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). Interment of cremated remains will follow in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 10-11 AM Saturday morning at the funeral chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
