Cynthia Anne (Williams) Stockton

Cynthia Anne Stockton nee Williams of Yardley, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in the seaside town of West Hartlepool, England, she attended the Royal Hospital School of Physical Therapy in Wolverhampton and Graduated as a Member of the Chartered Society of Physical Therapy in 1964. Cynthia moved to Edmonton, Canada in 1969, where she met and married Gerald William Stockton later that year. After relocating to Ottawa, Ontario in 1973, she continued her education at the University of Ottawa. Together they moved to Pennsylvania in 1977. Cynthia worked as a licensed physical therapist in hospitals in England, Canada, and the United States, lastly at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, and MossRehab in NE Philadelphia.

Cynthia was a classically trained singer, having studied with opera singer Jean Letourneau, founder of the Edmonton Opera. She was a member of the Philly Pops Festival Chorus for 15 years and the local·Pennsbury Community Chorus for 20 years. She sang in numerous musical productions at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center and at New York's Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall. She also loved musical theater, classic literature, gardening, floral arranging, drawing, and water-color painting.

Cynthia is survived by her husband of 53 years Gerald Stockton, their son Jeremy Andrew, daughter Katherine Joanne, grandson Gavin Xavier Hanson, and by her sister Jennifer Atkinson of Bradford, UK, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Stockton's services at 11 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel.

Friends may call from 10-11 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the funeral chapel.

Cynthia's committal will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
