February 2, 1951 to January 10, 2020 (age 68)
Daniel "Dan" Fawcett, 68, of Yardley, died peacefully at the Langhorne Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania on January 10, 2020.
He will be remembered for his love of cooking, wine, gardening, backpacking, fishing, and especially his home-grown hot pepper spices.
Dan lived in Levittown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1969.
He was a US Army veteran, serving his country from 1969-1975 with the Fifth Special Forces as a Medical Specialist. He trained at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. In 1970, he graduated from parachute training (jump school) in Ft. Benning, Georgia. To this day, he has taken-off in many more airplanes than he's landed in.
Dan took a few courses at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He later attended Temple University and graduated with a BS in 1994. He was also an FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic.
Since 2001, Dan was a Quality Engineer with OPEX Corporation in Moorestown, New Jersey. He was a legend among his friends.
For many years until Parkinsons overcame him, Dan and his wife would travel to central Quebec for a week of fly-out fishing at a remote lake out in the boondocks. No electricity, no roads. Just a cabin, propane fridge, and lots of fish.
Since they were first married in 1992, Dan and his wife met with friends once a month for an evening of tasting wine, food, and having a good time.
Dan was predeceased by his mother, Ellen, and father, Robert. He is survived by his wife, Susan; sister, Carol; step-mother, Ann; step-sister, Paula (Ron) Foreso; mother-in-law, Irene Heller; sister-in-law, Linda (Dave) VanOcker; brother-in-law, Andrew Heller; and many nieces, cousins, and friends.
There is no funeral, but there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
In-lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated. Have a sip of your favorite beverage in rememberance of Dan.
