Darlene "Doll" Michelle Vereen

August 7, 1971 — February 6, 2025

Fairless Hills, PA

Darlene "Doll" Michelle Vereen, born on August 7, 1971, in New York, NY, departed from this life peacefully at her home in Fairless Hills, PA, on February 6, 2025. She was 53 years old and leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and resilience that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Raised in New York, Darlene carried the vibrant spirit of her upbringing as she ventured through life. She spent five wonderful years in Southern California, then called Yardley, PA, home for three years before settling into Fairless Hills, where she became an integral part of the community over the past seventeen years.

As a dedicated office manager with Porcelain Refinishing in Queens, NY, for more than fifteen years, Darlene embraced her work with the same passion and commitment she extended to her family. Her professional and personal lives were beautifully intertwined with her profound ability to nurture and care for those around her.

Darlene was a proud graduate of Francis Lewis High School in NY, grounding her strong character and work ethic that would guide her throughout her life. She had a fantastic sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and an infectious laugh that drew people to her. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Darlene excelled at bringing her family together, especially around large, lovingly prepared meals that she cherished sharing.

Her hobbies brought her immense joy; she was an avid gardener who loved cultivating herbs and vegetables, sharing the fruits of her labor with close family and friends. Darlene also enjoyed watching action movies, often losing herself in the thrill and excitement of each story.

Darlene is survived by her beloved husband, Hugh Vereen, Jr., and their children: son Jared J. Scotti of Fairless Hills, son Marc L. Vereen and daughter-in-law Liz of Windsor, CT, and daughter Jennifer L. Vereen of W. Warwick, RI. The laughter of her grandchildren, Jeremiah and Mya, will forever echo in her memory. Darlene also held a special place in her heart for her father, Michael Scotti of Bayside, NY, her brother Thomas and sister-in-law Karen Scotti of Queens, NY,  her sister-in-law Lisa Scotti of NY City, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Ambrose Scotti, whose love and teachings shaped Darlene into the remarkable woman she grew to be, as well as her loving brother Michael Scotti.

The warmth Darlene brought into the lives of others will be celebrated during visitation on February 14, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services 41 W. Trenton Ave. in Morrisville, PA. Following the visitation, a Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA at 11:00 AM, concluding at 11:45 AM.

Her interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider making a memorial contribution, in Darlene's name, to the Fox Chase Cancer Center (www.foxchase.org).

Though Darlene may have left this earthly realm, her vibrant spirit, boundless love, and unforgettable laughter will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed yet forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
