Dennis D. Newell, Sr., age 79 of Yardley, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at his home. Born in Clarksburg, W. VA, relocated to Fairless Hills PA in 1953,residing at his current home in Yardley since 1976.
Prior to his retirement, Dennis was employed as a Health and Safety Director with Rohm and Haas Chemical for 43 years. A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals and a volunteer Safety Driver Instructor with A.A.R.P. Dennis enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, and loved to dance and travel to Hawaii. Additional interests include genealogy research and playing ping pong.
Son of the late Charles Edward and Bonnie Beatrice (Norman) Newell, and husband of the late Karen L (Russell) Newell. Dennis was predeceased by his brother Daniel Newell and granddaughter Nicole Schaffer. He is survived by his wife Susan (Patrone) Newell, two daughters and a son-in-law Sharon and Steven Stout of Elkton, MD and Darcy Schaffer of Trevose, PA, a son Dennis Newell, Jr. of New Castle, PA, two brothers and sisters-in-law William and Melanie Newell of Alto, TX and Charles and Marianne Newell of Browns Mills, NJ, four grandchildren Erik and Keri Stout, Dalton Schaffer and Jacquelynn Newell, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral chapel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. The Rev. Jack McAnlis of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church will officiate. His interment with military honors will follow at 1 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.
