Doris T. (Wald) Marx

March 15, 1921 — October 26, 2018

Doris T. (Wald) Marx, age 97, of Hendersonville, NC, and formerly of Lower Bucks County, died peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, N.C.  Born in Queens County, NY, Mrs. Marx was a resident of Lower Bucks County for over 64 years, spending 36 years in the Morrisville/Yardley area before moving to Holland, PA, and then finally to Ann’s Choice in Warminster. She resided at The Bridge at Lake Point Landing in Hendersonville for the past 4 months.

Doris had been a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Church in Warminster, St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in Holland and St. Ignatius of Antioch Church in Yardley, where she had been a member and Past President of the Solidarity.  She was a former volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, as well as 25-year member of the Martha Washington Garden Club in Yardley.

Daughter of the late Fred J. and Loretta (Shields) Wald, wife of the late Robert G. Marx, and sister of the late Loretta Garcia, she is survived by two sons, Dennis R. Marx of Lake Forest, IL and Thomas Marx of Hendersonville, NC, a daughter Christine Mary Marx of Oakton, VA, a sister Virginia Nicolard of Hicksville, NY, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 from 7-9 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA.

Her services and interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Doris’ name be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, www.parkinson.org or to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
