Dorothy "Dot" V. (winters) Latham

April 2, 1933 — July 25, 2013

In the loving presence of her children and grandchildren, and enveloped by God's mercy, Dorothy "Dot" V. Latham passed away on July 25th at the age of 80 after battling a lengthy illness. She was a warm and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose generous spirit and loving heart deeply touched the lives of many over her eighty years on earth. Not surprisingly, her greatest lifelong joy was spending time with those she loved.Dot was born on April 2, 1933 in Trenton, NJ, as the fourth of seven siblings. She grew up in Morrisville, PA and later attended Morrisville High School, where she excelled in academic and sport activities. Employed until the age of 78, Dot worked for the Heinemann Electric Company as well as the New Jersey Department of Labor until illness forced her retirement.Married to the love of her life for over 51 years, Dot is preceded in death by her husband William "Bud" Latham, her parents and step-father John Winters, Marjorie Winters Lloyd and Alfred "Smokey" Lloyd as well as her brother, Jack Winters, her sisters and brothers-in-law including Janet Schoefield, Joan & John Porreca, Ruth & Andy Nyere, and Clara & Harry Gerdes .Dot's loss leaves a hole in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply and forever missed by her daughters Patricia Bach (Philip), Janet Tello (Tony) and Kathy Ciro, as well as her grandchildren Chris Zimman (Yun), Lauren Zimman, Jessica Bach, Vincent Ciro, Christopher Tello and Allison Tello Sadowsky (Eddie). Along with her great-grandchildren Bella and Kane Sadowsky, Dorothy leaves numerous nieces, nephews and friends across the country. Her much adored recent canine companion "Daisy" also feels the pain of her loss as she sits patiently by Dot's now vacant recliner.Visitation will be held at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 West Trenton Avenue, Morrisville, PA on FridayAugust 2nd from 5 to 8 PM and on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM.A funeral Mass in celebration of Dot's life will be held at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, 1130 Brunswick Ave, Trenton, NJ on Saturday, August 3rd at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful physicians and staff at Virtua Memorial Hospital's Fox Chase Cancer Center in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, who provided knowledge, skills and encouragement at a very challenging time. A very special thank you to Drs. Paul Devers, Deborah Butzbach and Seth Berk for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Canine Companions for Independence http://www.cci.org/site/c.cdKGIRNqEmG/b.4011045/k.685A/Donate_in_Honor_or_Memory.htmTo Mom ...
