Eleanor Dore Holland Eleanore Dore Holland, 89, of Pennswood Village (Newtown), died Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was formerly of Yardley, Overbrook Hills and West Philadelphia. Personal: Ms. Holland retired as a Computer Patent Supervisor for Radio Corporation of America (RCA) after 40 years of service. Eleanor was very interested in her family's Irish history, and wrote a book about their heritage from the 1800's to the present day. Memberships: Eleanor was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania; a member of the University's Sorority and Alumni Association; a member of the American Association of University Women; and a patron of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She was also an avid swimmer; a member of St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Newtown and a member of various clubs at Pennswood Village. Survivors: Daughter of the late Dr. Daniel E. and Kathleen (Mills) Holland; sister of the late Mary R. Burns and Kathleen P. Gunn; sister-in-law of the late Ernest Gunn and aunt of the late Kathleen Roberts. She is survived by one sister, Margaret H. Poswistilo and her husband Frank S. Poswistilo of Easton; sister-in-law, Sister Agnes Maire Gunn, SSJ, of Flourtown, PA; brother-in-law, William Burns of Fullerton, CA; as well as 17 nieces and nephews. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Swamp Road, Newtown, PA beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with interment of cremated remains to be held at a later date.Funeral Services are under the direction of the Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W.
