Eli Serlenga

November 2, 1929 — July 1, 2018

Eli Serlenga, age 88, a longtime resident of Lambertville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his daughter's home in Columbus, NJ.  Born in Burlington, NJ, Mr. Serlenga lived in Lambertville, and South Brunswick, NJ before retiring to Albrightsville, PA.

He received his BA from Thomas Edison State College. He worked as a supervisor in the Division of Right of Way for the NJ Department of Transportation for over 20 years.  During that time, he also worked part time as the Tax Assessor for both W. Amwell Twp., NJ and Lambertville, NJ.  He then worked as the Tax Assessor for S. Brunswick Twp., NJ, from which he retired after 17 years of service.  Mr. Serlenga was a Past President of the NJ Tax Assessor's Organization, and was an adjunct professor, teaching taxation, at Rutger's University.  An avid golfer, he also enjoyed fishing, boating, and helping people with household projects.

Son of the late Louis and Rose (Samarone) Serlenga, and husband of the late Patricia (Demech) Serlenga, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Dr. Cheryl and Hans Arzt of Columbus, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law Daniel L. and JoAnn Serlenga of Ringoes, NJ, a sister, Mary Field of Bristol, PA, five grandchildren Kara (and Adam) Pachnieski, Brian (and Stacey) Arzt, Matthew (and Sabrina) Arzt, Joshua Serlenga and Christopher Arzt, three great grandchildren, Tricia, Grace, and Kady Arzt, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Ave., Morrisville, PA.  The Rev. Wendy Bellis, Pastor, will officiate.  His interment will follow in Morrisville Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until time of services in the church lounge.
