Elizabeth Burgess Jurey

Elizabeth B. Jurey was called to be with God on November 4, 2024, at her home in Morrisville, Pennsylvania.

Born on February 9, 1948, in Trenton, New Jersey, Elizabeth was the daughter of late Charles T. Burgess and Frances (Bunting) Burgess. She was a lifelong resident of Morrisville, where she attended local schools, completing her education at Morrisville High School and pursuing college courses. Elizabeth was a homemaker also working in retail in her early career days. Then worked at NJM Insurance Company for 37 years before cherishing her retirement.

Elizabeth's personality was an exquisite tapestry of fun, caring, happiness, and comfort. Her radiant spirit drew people to her, and her laughter filled rooms with an infectious delight. A true community pillar, Elizabeth was deeply involved with the Morrisville Presbyterian Church for 64 years. She was a lifelong choir member, from age 5 to 65. enriching the worship experience for countless congregants. Moreover, her passion for giving and service was evident over the years she was deacon and elder, a volunteer for the Youth Club and the Clothing Center as well as a member of the Handbell Choir. In retirement she enjoyed the local gardening club, traveling with lifelong friends and countless gatherings at the shore.

Reflecting on Elizabeth's legacy, one cannot overlook the profound impact she had on her family and friends. She leaves behind her daughter, Carol Ridge and son-in-law Michael and daughter, Jill Jurey; her brother William Burgess and sister-in-law Melonie; as well as grandsons Mathew and Jonathon Ridge, and her niece, Meghan (Burgess) Burghart and nephew, Michael, great nephew, Anton, great niece Lyra; she also leaves behind many extended relatives and close friends she has made throughout the years. Her personal warmth and generosity of spirit will be irreplaceable in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

A memorial visitation will be held on December 7th from 12pm – 2pm at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N Pennsylvania Ave, Morrisville, PA 19067 with a memorial service to begin at 2pm. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to MPC Music Fund.
