Elmer Harry Stout, age 90, of Morrisville, PA, passed away on the day of which he was most proud, Independence Day, July 4, 2014. Born in Trenton, Mr. Stout was a lifelong resident of the Trenton and Bucks County area. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Stout was the owner/operator of his retail appliance store, which he operated for 10 years. He was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII, serving as a radioman on the USS Thompson. He was at Omaha Beach in Normandy during the "D-Day" invasion, and continued with the USS Thompson as it was converted to a mine sweeper, serving in the Japanese Theater. Mr. Stout was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Yardley, PA and a former member of the Trenton VFW. Son of the late Howard and Harriet (Smidt) Stout, he is survived by his girlhood sweetheart and wife of 70 years, Charlotte F. (Lippincott) Stout, 2 sons and daughters in law Jeffrey and Debbie Stout of Marblehead, MA and Patrick and Barbara Stout of Ducksbury, MA, 2 brothers Howard and Norman Stout, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday evening, July 8, 2014 from 7-9 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). Services and interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
