Emilie Barbara (Penta) Kohler, age 103 of Lawerenceville, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 at the Homestead in Hamilton Township, NJ. Born in the Bronx, NY, Emilie lived in Lawrenceville since 1955.
She earned her BA in Education from Trenton State Teacher's College, and worked for many years as a librarian at Richboro Elementary School in the Council Rock School District. Mrs. Kohler was a member of the Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Ewing, NJ. She volunteered at Pennsbury Manor, entertaining visitors by dressing in period clothing and giving soap demonstrations. Emilie also volunteered her time at the Lawrence Library and was a member of the Lawrence Arts Council. She was a member of ECHO Church Group, helping to lead people to say YES to Jesus and passionately follow Him. In her spare time, Emilie enjoyed painting and playing bridge.
Daughter of the late Rudolph and Pauline (Matthes) Penta, wife of the late A. Richard Kohler and mother of the late Barbara Friedrich, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard B. and Margaret Kohler of Califon, NJ and Ronald K. and Carlene Kohler of Greensboro, NC, two grandchildren Hannah and Brian Kohler, and two great grandchildren Susie and Lukas.
Her services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
