Emma R. Smith, age 98 of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2024 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.
Born in Bristol, PA, Mrs. Smith was a lifelong Morrisville resident, graduating from Morrisville High School, Class of 1943. She was employed as a banker with Morrisville Bank, which became Corestates, and retired following 52 years of service. Emma was a member of the Neshaminy Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #374 in Woodside, PA. She continued to serve the community as a volunteer at St. Mary Medical Center in the Pre-Admission testing department for 15 years after she retired from the bank. She was dedicated to her family, caring for her parents, husband and sister when their health was failing. She also provided care for her great grandchildren well into her later years.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Kasper) Reitzle, wife of the late Christian F. “Bud” Smith, Jr. and sister of the late Dorothy Jennings. Emma is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Nathan Fidler of Levittown, a granddaughter Christy (Nicholas) DeLorenzo of New Hope, two great grandchildren Aiden and Ryleigh, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service to be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 1505 Makefield Rd., Morrisville, PA 19067. The Rev. Lisa Keppeler will officiate. Her interment will follow in Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Rd., Ewing, NJ.
Friends may call on Friday from 12:30 – 1:30 PM at the church.
