Eric M. Sobczak

Eric M. Sobczak, 57, of Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2025.

Born and raised in Croydon, PA, Eric was the beloved son of the late Gerald and Kay (Davis) Sobczak. A proud graduate of Bishop Egan High School, Eric’s education laid the foundation for his hardworking spirit and determination throughout life. His remarkable talent as a painter brought beauty and life to countless homes, and his passion for his craft was evident to all who knew him.

Beyond his career, Eric was a cheerful and carefree man who cherished the simple pleasures in life—especially moments spent fishing with his children and enjoying the beach, a love he carried with him since childhood. His zest for life was felt by everyone around him.

Eric was a devoted father, taking immense pride in his three sons—Tyler, Timothy, and Mason Sobczak—whom he considered his greatest accomplishments. Whether he was fixing things around the house, watching the Philadelphia Eagles with his family, or creating memories at the Philadelphia car show, Eric always made time for those he loved, bringing laughter and joy to every moment spent together.

In addition to his children, Eric leaves behind the mother of his children, Sheila Bender; his cherished grandchildren, Declan and Dempsey, and their mother, Jaclyn; his brother Scott and sister-in-law Jennifer Sobczak; and his loyal fur baby, Country. He is also survived by numerous extended relatives and close friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

A memorial gathering will be held on March 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. A prayer service and time of sharing will begin at 1:30 PM.

As we remember Eric, let us hold close the countless memories he shared with us—the love he gave so freely, his infectious laughter, and the happiness he spread. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
