Ernest J. "Ernie" Perez, Jr., age 70 of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept, 27, 2020 with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was a longtime Morrisville resident.
Prior to his retirement in 1996, Mr. Perez was employed as a police officer with the City of Philadelphia for 20 years. He was a member of F.O.P. Lodge # 5. Ernie loved to shoot pool and play cards. He really enjoyed shopping, especially at thrift stores. Mr. Perez could build just about anything, and loved to cook.
Brother of the late Thomas, Carmen, and Larry Perez, he is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth "Betty" (Amendt) Perez, his children Patrick and Kathleen Candler of Morrisville and Wendy Neuman of Philadelphia, two brothers and a sister-in-law Edward Perez of Philadelphia and Robert and Patricia Perez of Fairless Hills, PA, five grandchildren Patrick, Serena, Sierra, Breanna and Natalia, several nieces and nephews, and his special friends Jim (Cathy) Kaucher, Pete (Barbara) DiBuono, Sam (Donna) Simon and Dave Ogle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his committal service with military honors, to be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 at 9:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions, in his name, be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwariorproject.org .
