Florence Warner Jones, 77, passed from life on September 17, 2024, at her residence in Philadelphia, Pa. after a long illness. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Britney M. Jones, to whom she was devoted, and is predeceased by her late husband Alan Jones. She shared her final moments with loved ones.
Florence was born March 22, 1947, in Athens, Ga. to Byron Warner, a singer and teacher, and Florence Warner, a dancer. She began her professional career at an early age with recording sessions, club dates and radio appearances. She released her first LP of many- “Florence Warner” in 1974.
Florence was a brilliant and talented vocalist and had an illustrious career as an entertainer and recording artist. Her voice launched innumerable memorable ad campaigns and was also featured in notable film and stage productions.
Florence was vivacious, a Bon Vivant, and beautiful both inside and out. She was a well-loved and valued member of the musical communities of New York, Nashville, Chicago, LA and Europe, and will be greatly missed. She will never be forgotten.
As she wished, there will be no formal services. A small group of family and friends convened at her home on October 9, 2024, for an informal memorial gathering. A Celebration of Life function is being discussed and will be announced accordingly.
Arrangements are under the direction of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave. Morrisville, PA 19067.
