Gerald Edward Thompson

Gerald Edward Thompson, age 85 of Yardley, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.  Born in Philadelphia, Gerry had lived in Yardley over 50 years.

Gerry graduated from West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, then went on to earn his BA degree from LaSalle University.  He was a real estate developer for over 35 years.  Gerry was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, and he was a huge sports fan, rooting for all the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles.  He was well known by all as a practical joker and knew how to enjoy life. Gerry lit up whenever he interacted or spoke of his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Mary Frances (Suter) Thompson.  He was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Gibbons) Thompson.  Loving Father of Karen Thompson of Yardley, Kimberly Courtney (Rick) of Langhorne, Christopher Thompson of Yardley, Jill Thompson of New York, NY and Megan Corrigan (Patrick) of Langhorne.

Dear brother of Donald Thompson (Betty) of Tacoma Park, MD, the late Mary McFadden (Daniel) and the late Samuel Thompson (Dorothy).

Devoted Pop-Pop of Patrick, Molly and Bella.  Also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Rd., Yardley, PA  19067.  His interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 – 11 AM at the church.
