Harold E. Finch, 94, of Morrisville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at the home that he and his wife proudly built in 1954. Born in West Abington, PA, he was a resident of Dalton and Mill City, PA before moving to Morrisville in 1952.Harold was a patriotic WW II veteran, serving in the Army's 99th Division. He was a member of Morrisville's American Legion Post 433 and the Morrisville United Methodist Church where he was a communion steward, trustee, and usher. Harold also worked with the youth when his children were teenagers and enjoyed taking them on camping trips and retreats.He was employed by James Monte Construction, a subcontractor of Bill Levitt, for over 35 years and worked on numerous churches, shopping centers and schools during the growth of Levittown. In earlier years, he enjoyed camping with family and friends, working on his cars, and tinkering in his garage, creating unique solutions to projects around the house.Mr. Finch was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest L. and Ruth A. (Sturdevant) Finch, his wife of 58 years, Rose Mott Finch, his daughter, Donna Marie Leary, and his brother Elmer B. Finch. He is the father of Robert Finch and wife, Deborah, of Irondequoit, NY and Carol Young and husband, Kenneth, of Yardley. He will also be missed by his son-in-law, Kevin Leary and wife Tory of St. Charles, IL.; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Harold's family would like to thank his wonderful neighbors, Ceida and Juan Classen for their kindness, and his caregiver, Joyce Walker for her compassion, as well as the nurses and staff at Chandler Hall Hospice.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his life celebration service on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067, with Rev. Wendy Bellis officiating. Calling hours will be from 10:00 am until the service begins. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m.at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Lily Lake Rd., Dalton, PA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the J. Allen Funeral Chapel, 41 W.
