Herbert Michael Young, age 74 of Upper Makefield Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia, Herb lived in Upper Makefield for 30 years.
Herb majored in business at Temple University and was a proud Vietnam Era Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1979, with his late brother Alan, he founded the popular Young’s Seafood, in Levittown, later selling the business to form Fine Line Seafoods, a wholesale distributor. Since 2017, he worked in sales at Hesh’s Seafood. Among his varied interests, Herb enjoyed golf, horseracing, sports of all kinds, and theater, and played competitive backgammon and bridge
Son of the late Herman and Gertrude (Loss) Young, he is survived by his wife Ilene (Becker) Young, and three sons, Harry B. Young of Glenside and Max W. and Benjamin B. Young of Upper Makefield.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service with Military Honors on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940, entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA,
