Herman L. Paxson

Herman L. Paxson, age 74, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, NJ. Born in Morrisville, he was a lifelong resident.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Paxson was employed as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Herman was also a member of the Capitol View Fire Company, where he was first driver. Additionally, he was a member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church. Mr. Paxson enjoyed time with friends and family, especially the grandkids. He loved holidays, his favorite being Halloween.Son of the late Clarence and Frances (Groves) Paxson, he is survived by his loving wife Linda (Rinker) Paxson, three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia L. and Larry Hammer of Fairless Hills, Katie L. and Kenneth Hammaker of Mechanicsburg, and Lisa L. Paxson Arnold and Joseph Arnold of Plymouth Meeting, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Catherine Paxson of E. Columbus, NJ and Albert and Lorraine Paxson of Morrisville, two sisters Gail Reynolds of Naples, FL, and Gladys Smith of Fruitland Park, FL, six grandchildren Kevin, Emily, Aaron, Lindy, Kaylin, and Paxson, and many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA (www.hooperfuneralchapel.com). The Rev. Catherine Bowers, Pastor of the Morrisville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.Friends may call Wednesday evening, Aug. 27th, from 6-8 PM, and on Thursday, Aug. 28th from 10-11 AM at the funeral chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mr. Paxson's name be sent to the Morrisville Fire Company, 528 N Pennsylvania Ave, Morrisville, PA 19067 or charity of choice.
