James S. Bullaro

April 27, 1921 — January 4, 2013

James S. Bullaro, age 91, died peacefully at home on Friday, January 4, 2013surrounded by his loving family. Formerly, of Hamilton, New Jersey he moved toMorrisville, Pa three years ago.A US Army, World War II veteran, he attained the rank of Sgt., stationed in Leghorn, Italy where he proudly served as Message Center Chief in the Office of the Brigadier General. Upon his return, he married his sweetheart Sophie who he had dated since they were teenagers.Jim was a man who loved the Lord, found solace in prayer and was devout in his Catholic faith. A dedicated family man, his true delight was his wife, children and grandchildren.A loving and gentle husband, dad and grandfather he was generous in sharing his love,positive demeanor and beautiful smile.He was proud of his Italian heritage, an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed family and friends, listening to music, dancing, playing the harmonica and trips to Atlantic City. He retired from Hamilton Township School District, Maintenance Department where he was employed for many years.Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, he was predeceased by his parents, Giovanni and Francesca (Spatola) Bullaro, siblings, Frank, Charles, John, George, Frank (Tweets) and Charlotte Prusko Bullaro.He is survived and is sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Sophie (Ziolkowski) Bullaro, daughter and son-in-law Frances (Bunny) and Ronald Bentivogli of Morrisville, Pa., with whom he resided. son, James P. Bullaro of Brick, New Jersey, four granddaughters, Stacey Acevedo, Lori Dzubryk and husband Andrew, Jamie Pelose and husband Michael and Jenna Mason and husband Matthew, six great grandchildren, William, George, Nicole, Joseph, Ataya and Michael and one great-great grandchild, Nevaeh, sister Jean and brother-in law John Owens, sister-in law, Rita Bullaro, brother in-law Theodore and wife Joan Ziolkowski, several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.Special thanks to Brenda for her compassionate care and friendship, and the doctors andHospice staff involved in his care.Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his funeral mass at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 9172 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19054. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.Friends may call Tuesday morning from 10:30-11:30 AM at the church.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Bullaro's memory to theBucks County Association for the Blind, 400 Freedom Drive, Newtown PA 18940 (online at www.bucksblind.org or Masses to be said in his memory.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.
