James D. "Snake" Thomas

James Daniel “Snake” Thomas, age 84 of Clearwater, Florida, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at his home in Clearwater.  He was born and raised in Trenton, NJ.

Prior to his retirement, Jim was employed as an Iron Worker with Iron Workers Local #68, 11 and 373.   

Among his varied interests, Snake enjoyed deep sea fishing and was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles.  He always enjoyed attending Phillies spring training games in Clearwater.   He was a avid collector of baseball hats of all kinds, including, but not limited to, Phillies, Eagles, Iron Workers, fishing, St. Patrick’s Day, Made in America and Patriotic Flag.

Son of the late Joseph and Doris (Dwyer) Thomas, husband of the late Joan (Potosky) Thomas, father of the late James J. Thomas, and brother of the late George P. Thomas, Barbara J. Schaible, and Sharon M. Kovacs, he is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law Joseph L. Thomas, Jr. of Levittown, PA and Edward C. and Patricia Thomas of Margate, FL, two sisters and two brothers-in-law Jacqueline Cerenzo of Clearwater, FL, Cecelia and Don Dileo of Yardville, NJ and Stephen P. Kovacs of Hamilton Twp,NJ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 9-10:30 AM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA   19067.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA  19067, followed by his interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
