John VanDyke "Van" Ellis, III, age 49, of Yardley, PA, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Van, as he was known to family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Bucks County, graduating from Pennsbury High School and Susquehanna University. He worked, for many years, in the banking and mortgage industry. Van played hockey since the age of 5, which led to a devotion to the sport. He enjoyed watching and discussing developments in all sports. He was a member of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church.He is survived by his parents, John Jr. and Marilyn of Yardley, his sister Diane Marseglia and niece Katey Marseglia of Levittown. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and olive Ellis and Harry and Loretta Ratcliffe, and his niece, Becky Marseglia.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 am on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave. The Rev. Ronald Rosenau, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.Friends may call Friday morning from 9-10:45 AM in the church lounge.The family extends gratitude to those nurses, doctors, and BCHIP staff who provided Van with treatment and support over the past several months.
