John Van Ellis Jr.

John Van Ellis, Jr. passed away peacefully on Jan 27, 2017 at Chandler Hall, Newtown PA, following a brief battle with cancer.John was a lifelong resident of Bucks County whose family roots go back to the late 1600's and include farming part of the area that became the home of United States Steel. A graduate of Pennsbury High School and Rider College John worked for US Steel in his younger years and for the balance of his career at DeLaval Turbine in Trenton, New Jersey. John loved his time at the gym, skiing, yard work and was an avid history buff.Son of the late Olive and John Van Ellis, Sr., he is survived by his wife: Marilyn, his daughter: Diane Ellis-Marseglia and his granddaughter: Kate Marseglia, a sister-in-law Justine Opaleski, and a cousin Scott Ellis, and several nieces and nephews. The life of John and his wife were enhanced by many decade long friendships that continue to flourish. John was pre-deceased by his son Van Ellis, III and granddaughter: Becky Marseglia.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his service at 11 AM Tuesday, January 31 at Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, PA. Visitors will be welcome from 9 AM until time of services in the church lounge.Donations in John's name can be made to the Morrisville Presbyterian Church (771 N Pennsylvania Ave Morrisville 19067) or the scholarship held in his granddaughter Becky's memory (Middletown Community Foundation PO 1128 Langhorne Pa 19047).Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
