John Michael Fedorko, 87, of Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Christmas Day, December 25, 2018.
Born in Trenton, NJ, John graduated from Trenton Catholic Boys’ High School and Rider College. After proudly serving in the Army during the Korean War, John earned his law degree from Temple.
John was an altar boy and life-long parishioner of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Trenton. A first generation American, John’s native language was Slovak, and he often assisted Slovak-speaking parishioners and clergy with legal matters over the years.
Beloved husband and devoted father, John and Maryann, his wife of over 62 years, raised 7 children in Morrisville, PA. His legal career included decades of service as Borough Solicitor of Morrisville. For many years, John served on the Board of Directors for St. Mary Medical Center and the Grey Nun Academy.
John was an avid golfer who also enjoyed gardening and sporting events. He especially loved fishing and organized many fishing trips for family and friends.
John, son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Fedorko, and father of the late Michael E. Fedorko, is survived by his wife Maryann Fedorko, son John (Jana) Fedorko of Houston, TX, daughter Christine (Steven) Hoffman of North Wales, PA, son William Fedorko of Quakertown, PA, daughter Susan (Charles) Tutela of Naples, FL, daughter Elizabeth (Robert) Monahan of Collegeville, PA, and son David Fedorko of Eldersburg, MD, in addition to 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
John will be remembered as an exceptionally kind, generous man, with a ready wit and delightful sense of humor. He always had a warm smile and funny story for everyone he met.
His committal service with the rendering of military honors will take place on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 2pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA. All are invited to attend.
Memorial services for both John and his son, Michael, will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. Friends may call from 10-11am, with Panachida services beginning at 11am.
Interment of the cremated remains of his son, Michael, will follow in St. Mary Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.
