John "Jack" Gallena

July 24, 1927 — November 7, 2018

John “Jack” Gallena, age 91, of Yardley, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2018 at Brunswick at Attleboro, Langhorne, PA.  Born in Morrisville, PA, Jack lived in Trenton, NJ before moving to Yardley in 1949.  He additionally spent 10 years living in the Florida Keys.

Mr. Gallena was a graduate of Trenton High School, and earned his BS Degree from William and Mary College.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a metallurgist with U.S. Steel for 39 years.  Jack was a member of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church.  He loved music, especially the Big Band Sounds of Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey.  He also enjoyed movies and was an avid fan of the various Philadelphia sports teams.  Mr. Gallena loved the beach and swimming, as well as going on Caribbean cruises.  His greatest enjoyment was watching his grandkids dance and play soccer and baseball.  He especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews.

Son of the late Paul and Dorothy (Van Buskirk) Gallena, and husband of the late Georgiana (Lafferty) Gallena, he is survived by his loving daughters Wendy B. Parker of Levittown, PA and Amy Conigliaro of Stafford, VA, his brother Paul Gallena of Chesterfield, MO, four grandchildren Cassidy and Cameron Parker and Kaitlyn and Jack Conigliaro, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville PA.  The Rev. Jack McAnlis will officiate.  His interment was held privately at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 from 10-11 AM in the church lounge.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
