John A. O'Donnell, age 83, of Philadelphia, PA, died Nov. 7, 2014 at Aria Hospital, Torresdale Division. Born in Derry, PA, Mr. O'Donnell lived in Fallsington, PA before residing in Fairless Hills from 1964-2010. He then became a resident of the Delaware Valley Veteran's Home in Philadelphia.Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a railroad engineer with U.S. Steel Fairless Works for 31 years. He was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of V.F.W. Post #44 in Derry, PA.Son of the late John A. and Catherine (Gamble) O'Donnell, and brother of the late Helen Jane Siko and Patricia Rose Bridge, he is survived by a brother Michael G. (& wife Evelyn) of Fallsington, PA, a sister Ann C. (& husband Carl) of Latrobe, PA, and 2 brothers-in-law John Siko of Bradenville, PA and Donald Bridge of Latrobe, PA, and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to attend his service on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Ave., Newtown, PA 18940.The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Delaware Valley Veteran's Home.In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial contribution, in Mr. O'Donnells's memory, to the Delaware Valley Veteran's Home, 2701 Southampton Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154, or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
