Joyce Verna Kira

Joyce Verna Kira, of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise Senior Living, Lower Makefield Township, on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015.Born in Trenton, NJ, Joyce lived in Morrisville for 20 years. She was a graduate of Trenton High School, and a member of the Morrisville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Elizabeth Circle, the Adult Sunday School, and a participant in many Bible studies. Joyce volunteered for almost every event held by the church. Joyce retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Taxation after more than 30 years of service. She loved her Phillies, watching every game she could. Joyce loved animals, especially cats. When she lived in Morrisville, she liked to take SEPTA to the Oxford Valley Mall where she would visit friends that worked there. Eating out was one of her favorite pastimes. At Sunrise, she enjoyed playing Bingo, doing puzzles, going on scenic drives, and listening to the wonderful entertainment.Daughter of the late John W. and Verna A. (Solt) Kira, and sister of the late John R. Kira, she is survived by several cousins, and will be sadly missed by her church family.A special "THANK YOU" to the staff and caregivers at Sunrise, for their care and kindness.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 2 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Morrisville United Methodist Church, 501 W. Maple Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. The Rev. Wendy Bellis, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Colonial Memorial Park, Trenton, NJ.Friends may call Friday afternoon from 1:15 - 2 PM in the church lounge.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Joyce's memory, may be made to the above named church.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.
