Karl Ritz

Karl Ritz, 87, of Yardley, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell. Born in Kassel, Germany, Karl immigrated to the United States in 1953. He has been a Yardley resident for the past 18 years and was formerly of Kendall Park, NJ and Homosassa, FL.

Karl proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1962. He became a licensed electrician at age 19. He held FCC radio telephone operator licenses. Karl was an AT&T Communications Supervisor and retired in 1986. He was an EMT with the Kendall Park First Aid Squad. Karl volunteered with the Captive Manatee Breeding Program and other wildlife rescue efforts. He enjoyed playing the accordion, listening to Big Band music, travel, and cultivating rose bushes.

Husband of 60 years to the late Helga, and father-in-law of the late S. John Obayashi, Karl is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Michael Guerrio of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Leslie and Robert Crossey of Hamilton, NJ; and his grandchildren, Holly, Matthew and Tyler.

Interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be held privately. J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, PA.
