Morrisville, PA

Karla M. Geddes passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Langhorne, PA, following a long illness. Born in Trenton, NJ, Karla grew up in Morrisville and became a lifelong resident.

Karla was most recently employed as an administrative assistant with the New Jersey Hospital Association in Princeton, NJ, and she previously worked in the Bensalem Township School District, where she helped children with reading difficulties. Her work exemplified her warm and caring personality. She pursued her education with great determination, graduating from Morrisville High School in 1974 and earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Trenton State College, now known as the College of New Jersey. Her academic achievements were just one of the many sources of pride in her life. Outside her professional commitments, Karla was passionate about helping others, she spent countless hours knitting blankets for babies in the NICU, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place for those in need. Karla also enjoyed the gentle sounds of the waves at the beach in her free time, and holding babies whenever she had the opportunity.

Karla reunites now with her beloved parents, Edith Smith and Joseph H. Geddes, who welcomed her with open arms. She is survived by her loving brother, Joseph B. Geddes and his wife Rita, of Feasterville, PA; her sister, Barbara Crespo and her husband Anthony of Lynchburg, VA; her close friends Cheryl Martinez and Janet Nicoll, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Karla's vibrant spirit and nurturing nature will be missed, but her legacy of love and care will forever endure in the hearts of all who knew her. Karla also had a special place in her heart for her cat, “Calamity Kate,” who was a comforting presence in her life. She understood the importance of companionship, and her bond with Calamity Kate exemplified her warm-hearted spirit.

As we celebrate her life, let us reflect on the beautiful memories she created and the lives she touched with her kindness. May her legacy of love and compassion continue to inspire us all. Services will be held privately at the direction of the family. Memorial Donations may be made in Karla’s memory to the American Lung Association National Direct Response Headquarters PO Box 756 Osceola WI 54020-0756 or to the CATS Bridge to Rescue 2820 Old Lincoln Hwy Unit #4 Trevose, PA 19053, a shelter close to her heart.
