Kathleen S. Abate

January 15, 1947 — December 13, 2024

Yardley, PA

Kathleen S. Abate, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at The Birches of Newtown in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Born on January 15, 1947, in Trenton, New Jersey, Kathleen's warmth and caring spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

For over 40 years, Kathleen dedicated her professional life as an Executive Assistant for AT&T, serving diligently in both Philadelphia and Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Her commitment to excellence and her ability to connect with her colleagues were hallmarks of her career, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to work alongside her.

Kathleen embraced life with gusto, enjoying her time spent in various places throughout her journey. She lived in Lebanon, New Jersey, for 15 years before moving to Celebration, Florida, where she spent another joyful 15 years. Her last six years were spent in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Throughout these chapters, Kathleen found great joy in her faith as a member of the Celebration Community Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered her time with the youth programs and shared her beautiful voice in the choir. She also cherished her connection to the Morrisville Presbyterian Church, where she formerly worshiped.

Travel was one of Kathleen's greatest delights. She loved visiting destinations such as Ireland, Destin, Florida, and Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Her fondness for Disney parks created countless joyous memories, particularly those shared with her dear friend, Linda Decker, as they often traveled together.

Kathleen is survived by her loving family, including her sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Paul Wiedenhaefer of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, and her cherished nieces and nephews: Michele and Quintin Hardtner of Shreveport, Louisiana; Kelly Wiedenhaefer (Stout) of Yardley, Pennsylvania; Michael and Suzanne Demech of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Matthew and Christina Wiedenhaefer of Morrisville, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind a host of great-nieces and great-nephews who adored her: Quintin, Charles, William, Lila, Jacqueline, Bobby and Brynn.

Preceded in death by her parents William and Ruth Temple; and her sister, Barbara Demech, Kathleen has been greeted by the loving arms of her family who await her in eternity.

As we remember Kathleen, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, her dedication to those she loved, and her unwavering spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family, and she will be laid to rest in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a memorial contribution, in Kathleen's name, to Celebration Community Presbyterian Church, 511 Celebration Ave., Kissimmee, FL 34747.
