Keith Charles Commander, 64, passed away suddenly at his home in Yardley, PA, on November 2 nd , 2022, ironically, Día de Muertos.
Keith was born June 11, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY, to Timothy J Commander Sr and Florence J Commander (Knoll). Some of his most vivid memories were from his childhood times and adventures in the Canarsie Projects of Brooklyn.
Keith graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook where he met his wife, Dorothy, and many friends, that he cherished. Keith had a successful career as an IT consultant for over 40 years. He was a prolific writer, avid collector of Native American artwork and relics, and was an artist himself, creating his own artwork with many different mediums. Keith’s humor was unmatched and could be described as witty, sarcastic, and dry. He was an outspoken atheist, a proud Democrat, and was extraordinarily brilliant.
Keith had a fierce love of his immediate family. He was survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Farrell Commander, his three children, Kimberly Cavanaugh (Matt), Bailey Commander, and Dylan Commander, and his three granddaughters, Chloe Cavanaugh, Mia Cavanaugh, and Reese Garino. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother & sister.
He will be privately interred in a Mausoleum, at Ewing Cemetery, 100 Scotch Rd, Ewing, NJ, as per his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage everyone to plant trees in his memory. Please visit Trees For a Change .
