Laura Jean McClure, age 69 of Huntingdon Valley, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Woodbourne Place in Levittown, PA. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Laura lived in Morrisville for 16 years before moving to Huntingdon Valley 30 years ago.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. McClure began her working career at U.S. Steel at the Coke Works. She then worked at Borden’s Home Amusements, followed by her employment as a laboratory technician with Rohm and Haas and Dow Chemical for over 25 years.
Laura was a history buff, and enjoyed visiting Pennsbury Manor as well as the Elliott Museum and the House of Refuge, both located in Stuart, FL. In addition to spending the winters at her home in Hobe Sound, FL, she loved gardening, solving crossword puzzles and making candies and brownies. She would also be found rooting for her favorite baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies. She was well known for her favorite answer to any problem, “Oh Well, Whatever!”.
Daughter of the late James and Patricia (Feak) Goebel, wife of the late Timothy Bruce McClure, and longtime companion of the late Richard Frances Flum, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Nino T. McClure (and partner Teresa Wunder) of Morrisville and Edward J. and Kimberly McClure of Levittown, PA, two brothers and sisters-in-law Mark and Annie Goebel of Maumee, OH and Chris and Melissa Goebel of Port Clinton, OH, three grandchildren Timothy Grabowski and Kayla and Gavin McClure and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service to be held on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at 8 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Friends may gather from 6-8 PM on Friday evening at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Laura’s name, may be sent to The American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
